Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)

Who It Helps

  • Individuals experiencing distressing memories or flashbacks

  • Those with PTSD or trauma-related anxiety

  • Clients who have “tried talk therapy” but still feel stuck

  • First responders, veterans, and survivors of abuse or loss

  • Anyone seeking faster, focused relief from emotional triggers

How It Works

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based modality that uses guided eye movements to help the brain reprocess distressing images and sensations. Unlike traditional talk therapy, ART doesn’t require retelling every detail of a painful memory; instead, it gently helps the mind store those memories in a calmer, more adaptive way.

Many clients find that the emotional charge tied to a traumatic memory is significantly reduced within just a few sessions.

    Benefits

    • Relief from intrusive thoughts or recurring nightmares

    • Decreased anxiety, panic, and emotional reactivity

    • Improved sleep and sense of calm

    • Clearer perspective on past events

    • Renewed confidence and forward momentum

    What to Expect

ART is designed to work efficiently, and many clients experience meaningful progress in just a few sessions. Session length is flexible and may extend beyond a traditional hour depending on your needs and the depth of the work. With this in mind, we also offer ART intensives, which allow for longer or more frequent sessions to support deeper processing in a shorter period of time. You remain in control at every step and can pause, slow down, or redirect the work at any point.

While ART and EMDR both use bilateral stimulation to support trauma processing, EMDR typically unfolds over a longer timeline and can address complex trauma in more depth.
